As you know, I'm scouring every shop for an affordable bar cart for my house. I can't really decide which one to get, which is fine since after I find my bar cart, I will have to stock it up with the essentials. Every bar cart needs: glassware/stemware, liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, barware, and mixers. I know. That's a lot. Throughout this week, I will share the essentials to every bar car (or bar for that matter)... but let's start with the glassware.
There are a number of glasses each bar should have. I believe every bar needs: the collins/high old-fashioned glasses, old-fashioned glasses, martini/cocktail glasses, red wine glasses, white wine glasses, champagne flutes and beer glasses/mugs. It really, however, depends on what you're serving. Sure, you can serve red wine in a plastic cup if you don't have enough stemware, but if you want to keep it classy, you will invest (or rent) glasses to fit the bill.
