The Rebirth of the Jomygoodness Blog

The Rebirth of the Jomygoodness Blog

Life has a way of catching up with you. I started this blog back in 2007 or 2008... it's been so long, I can't even remember. I started the Jomygoodness blog because I was waist-deep in my obsession with weddings. No, I wasn't planning my own wedding, but being a wedding planner working a 9-to-5 that had nothing to do with the wedding industry, I needed an escape from the black-&-white of health insurance and a daily outlet to let my creativity flow.

Thus, Jomygoodness was born out of necessity, and although I acknowledged it was a band-aid fix to the void in my life, I never really considered it therapy. After all, I shared nothing but pretty weddings, wedding gowns, color palettes, and flowers. It evolved to inspiration boards, cocktail recipes, and weekly roundups that shared all my favorite finds of the week (from online sales to product launches and awesome articles in the blogging community). I didn't take a class or really plan things out with the intention of growing it to a certain size or gain a following. I did it because it literally became my scrapbook of creative information for me, and I figured being online I would be able to search through my posts for something I thought was cool but couldn't remember the details of in the future. (<-- I seriously have done that, by the way.)

Anyway, life caught up with me and I stopped. Everything around me had evolved -- mostly for the better -- work status changed, relationship status changed, my environment changed; therefore, my priorities changed, and I was perfectly fine with it. So a new marriage, two additional kiddos, new work environment, new home + mortgage, and new influences later, I am biting at the bit to fill this void I feel in my life... so I'm going back to my "roots" of blogging, hoping I find what it is I'm looking for. Don't get me wrong, I am happy, but I am a firm believer in journaling as therapy AND writing things down to make things happen.
