And, she is absolutely talented. I got a chance to actually sit down with Hannah of Modern Bouquet, so we were able to talk shop & chat it up. Seriously, time flew and we went on & on & on, as if we were best friends catching up. She was kind enough to answer my questions amidst this busy wedding season. Check it out:

What is your background? I was born & raised in San Diego. I have been blessed with an amazing family that raised me with rock solid morals & very traditional principles. I am so grateful for my family & 2 amazing sisters. Without them, I wouldn't be who I am today. I attended college at California State San Marcos, where I received a BA in Psychology. After college, I got married to my high school sweetheart and started an amazing family together!

How did you get into floral design? I knew I wanted to be a part of the floral industry after planning my own wedding (yes, it's a bit cliche, I know). I started working with Modern Boquet, under the original owner. We worked well together, so after a year and a half of working as a designer, I became part owner int he business. Now--5 yrars later--I am the sole owner/lead designer. It's been an amazing journey, and it seems like the pieces just fell into place so seamlessly over the years.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A bank teller. I was certain the tellers were rich since they took everyone's money!

How would you describe your personal style? How would you describe your floral design style? How are they different/the same? I definitely think my personal style & floral design style go hand-in-hand. My personal style is very laid back--a little bit hippie & feminine. Almost everything I own is slightly worn, extremely comfortable, and wearable. When I design flowers, I take many elements into consideration--texture, color, & natural movement. So, what I think characteries both styles is that natural, unforced appearance.

Favorites:

- Flower: Yikes! THis one is hard for me since I think each flower has its place. But, if you are makingme choose, I would say ranunculus. Ask me next week, and it could be sabiosa.

- Cocktail/Drink: Red wine

- Wedding Song: Van Morrison - "These Are the Days" (my wedding song)

- Color Palette: green & white. It's classic & can be done so many different ways... rustic, elegant, modern, etc.

What do you love most about your job? I love designing flowers because there are no rules to follow, and I love working with brides because they are embarking on such an important new stop in their lives. There's nothing like talking with a newly engaged bride! She glows.

What is your working pet peeve? I get annoyed when all the rubber bands aren't cut off the flower bundles and the stems aren't freshly cut!

If you weren't a floral designer, what do you think you would be doing right now? I'd like to think I would be some sort of counselor or therapist. I love to listen to people.

Where do you find inspiration? I take walks every day with my son & draw inspiration from the natural growth of flowers & plants. It's actually amazing what you can learn from nature. I, of course, read blogs too to keep up on all the fun new things brides & creative industry professionals are doing!

Pick

- Black or white: white

- Blackberry or Iphone: I have a blackberry but I want an iphone!

- PC or MAC: MAAAAAC!

- Flowers or candles: Flowers of course!

What advice would you give brides as far as selecting their flowers? I suggest compiling a list of flower likes and dislikes (& reasons why for each of these) so that your florist can point you toward designs & floral choices that make sense together, are in season, and are within that bride's budget. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I advise making sure brides cannot only explain their likes & dislikes, but show them visually as well!

What advice would you give brides as far as picking their floral designer? I tell all the brides I meet with to choose a floral designer that they feel comfortable with & fits their style the best.

Name 3 tools you use in your business that you couldn't do without. Sheers, zip ties, waterproof tape.
